Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

Oh yes! Our Lord Jesus Christ is indeed our Shepherd King! He is our Shepherd King! He is our Good Shepherd! He is our Eternal King of glory! He is indeed our glorious King! He is the One that Seats on the throne! To Him be glory and praise now and forevermore – Amen!

Brethren I welcome you to our Prophetic Sermon reaching you from the Altar of Divine Mercy here at Ivue Uromi Edo State of Nigeria. Today we are celebrating Christ our Universal King. And the theme of our Message is Christ our Glorious King.

There are so many leaders in the world today; our Lord Jesus Christ is the Leader of leaders. There are so many presidents in the world; our Lord Jesus Christ is the President of presidents. There are so many kings in the world; our Lord Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is the Master of masters. Ezekiel 34:11-17 presents Him as our Shepherd King. Psalm 23 presents Him as our Good Shepherd. In his first letter to the Corinthians chapter 15:20-28 St. Paul presents our Lord Jesus Christ as our Everlasting King. The gospel of Matthew 25:31-46 presents our Lord Jesus Christ as our glorious King; the One that Seats on the throne; the Judge of judges.

JESUS OUR SHEPHERD KING

When all the kings and leaders failed in their responsibilities God decided to look after His flocks by Himself. In the book of Ezekiel 34:11-17 the Lord God declares, “I myself will look after and tend my sheep. As a shepherd tends his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep…” Child of God, your leaders may fail to look after you but God will never fail! He has come to tend his sheep. He has come to shepherd you. God has come to look after you!

The Lord made the following promises: “I will rescue them from every place where they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark.” Child of God, the Lord has come to rescue you. He has come to deliver you! He has come to protect you! He will not allow your enemies to scatter you!

“I myself will pasture my sheep; I myself will give them rest, says the Lord GOD.” Child of god, the Lord has come to pasture you as a shepherd pasture his flock. He will provide for your needs and He will surely give you rest!

The Lord further promised, “The lost I will seek out, the strayed I will bring back, the injured I will bind up, the sick I will heal…” The Lord has come to bring back your lost ones. He has come to heal the sick! Today, you are receiving your healing. No more sickness in Jesus name!
As for you, my sheep, says the Lord GOD, I will judge between one sheep and another, between rams and goats: The Lord is our Just Judge. He is our Incorruptible Judge. He will judge with equity and fairness.

JESUS, OUR EVERLASTING KING

In his first letter to the Corinthians chapter 15:20-28 St. Paul presents our Lord Jesus Christ as our Everlasting King. According to him, “Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.” Our Lord Jesus Christ is not just the First Fruit of those who have fallen asleep; He is also the Lord and the First Fruit of the Living and the dead. He is our First Fruit! The Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End!

St. Paul went further to prove his claim that Jesus Christ is our First fruit: “For since death came through man, the resurrection of the dead came also through man. For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be brought to life, but each one in proper order: Christ the first fruits; then, at his coming, those who belong to Christ” Our Lord Jesus Christ Restored what Adam destroyed. Adam was the first to bring death Jesus was the first to bring life.

As for the end of our existence here on earth St. Paul declares, “Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has destroyed every sovereignty and every authority and power.” One of the reasons why our Lord Jesus Christ came into the world as a King was to destroy the works of satan (1 John 3:8). After He must have destroyed every other sovereignty, authority and power, our Lord Jesus Christ will hand over the Kingdom to the Almighty God our Father.
“For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” Do you now see the reason why I call Him our Everlasting King? Can you see the reason why He is called the Eternal King of glory? Jesus, according to St. Paul will until all our enemies, including death, are destroyed. We are looking forward to that day when death will no longer have power over us.
In conclusion St. Paul declares, “When everything is subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.” After all said and done all of us including our Lord Jesus Christ will submit ourselves to the Most High God, the All in all! The Uncaused caused, the Unmoved mover! And the All powerful God. My dear brothers and sisters, Is this not amazing!

With this we can now proceed to reflect on

JESUS, OUR GLORIOUS KING

The gospel of Matthew 25:31-46 presents our Lord Jesus Christ as our Glorious King, the One that Seats on the throne4.

Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Son of Man comes in his glory,
and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him…” Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon! The next time He will come He is not going to come as a poor retched man. He is coming as a glorious King, with an entourage of angels. When He comes He will seat on His Judgment throne.

“He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.” The sheep and the goat represent the good and the bad people. On judgment day the good ones will be separated from the bad ones.

Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’ Then the righteous will answer him and say,
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.’

Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed,
into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’ Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’ He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’ And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

This is the essence and the foundation of what we have today as Works of Mercy. This is one of the passages that inspired me to establish Works of Mercy foundation. On judgment nobody will ask you about your academic qualification. You will not be asked about your position in the church. Your wealth does not really count. The only thing that matter is your corporal Works of Charity. Your ability to touch people’s lives is what will determine where you will spend eternity.

If you truly want to reign with our Lord Jesus Christ in his heavenly kingdom this is the right time to prepare yourself for His glorious kingdom. And you can do through the Corporal Works of Mercy. As you do so it shall be well with you in Jesus name – Amen!

JESUS OUR GOOD SHEPHERD

Finally the Psalmist presents our Lord Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd.

Psalm 23 declares, “The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.” Child of God, as long as Jesus remains your Shepherd you will never lack!

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want.

Fresh and green are the pastures

where he gives me repose.

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

Near restful waters he leads me;

He revives my soul.

He guides me along the right path,

for the sake of His name.

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

You have prepared a table before me

in the sight of my foes.

My head you have anointed with oil;

my cup is overflowing.

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life. (all the days of my life)

In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell

for length of days unending.

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want

  3. I do like the way you have framed this particular concern and it does indeed supply us some fodder for thought. However, because of what precisely I have observed, I simply hope as the remarks pack on that people today keep on point and in no way embark on a soap box associated with the news of the day. Anyway, thank you for this outstanding point and even though I can not necessarily go along with it in totality, I value your standpoint.

  4. Along with every little thing that appears to be developing inside this particular subject matter, your viewpoints are generally quite stimulating. However, I appologize, because I do not subscribe to your entire theory, all be it exciting none the less. It looks to us that your opinions are not entirely justified and in actuality you are generally your self not really entirely confident of the assertion. In any case I did appreciate reading it.

  5. With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any methods to help prevent content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.

  6. I’ve been absent for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this blog. Thank you, I will try and check back more frequently. How frequently you update your web site?
