Blossom Where You are Planted

Oh Yes, The seed that fell into good soil yielded a hundredfold.

Human beings are like seeds in God’s hand. People are planted in different field and soils. Some people are planted in rich families why others are planted in poor families. Even some people are planted in developed nations whereas others are planted in developing nations. The family or the nation where one is planted may influence one positively or negatively. But as a child of God, No matter where you are planted, your case is different! You are a destined child. God’s purpose in your life must be accomplished. You must surely blossom where you are planted!

The LORD declares in Isaiah 55:10-11 “As the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I intend, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

God’s Word is not an empty vessel. God’s Word is alive and active. It is a fruitful force. God created the world with His Spoken Word. When God declared in Genesis 1:3, “Let there be light, instantly there was light!”God’s Word does not return empty. In Luke 21:33 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” Child of God, all the promises upon you life and all His spoken word concerning you must surely come to pass in Jesus name!

As I said at the beginning of this Message, it does not really matter where you are planted. Whatever you are passing through in life, as long as you are connected to our Lord Jesus Christ you are destined for greatness. You are a product of glorification. You must surely blossom!

In Romans 8:18-23 St. Paul wrote, “Brethren: I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us… we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.” Child of God, whatever you are passing through right now is only but a passing phase. There is still hope for you! You must surely blossom!

In the gospel of Matthew 13:1-23 our Lord Jesus Christ narrated and interpreted the Parable of the Sower. According to Him,  “When any one hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in his heart; this is what was sown along the path.” Child of God, as you study God’s Word, may He bless you with a deeper understanding of His Word.

“As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away.” Child of God, May God grant you unshakable faith so as to withstand all the tribulations and persecutions that may come your way!

As for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the delight in riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. Child of God, may God deliver you from distraction and anything that will choke God’s word in your life!

Finally, As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the word and understands’ he indeed bears fruit, and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and another thirty. This will be your portion in Jesus name! As you make God’s word your guiding principle you must surely blossom and it shall be well with you in Jesus name – Amen!

Happy Sunday from Rev. Fr. John Damian Adizie.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 65:10abcd. 1 Oe-11.12-13a. 13b-14 (R. Luke 8:8a)

  1. The seed that fell into good soil yielded a hundredfold.

You visit the earth, give it water;

you fill it with riches.

God’s ever-flowing river brims over

to prepare the grain. R.

And thus you provide for the earth:

you drench its furrows;

you level it, soften it with showers;

you bless its growth. R.

You crown the year with your bounty.

Abundance flows in your pathways;

in pastures of the desert it flows. R.

The hills are girded with joy.

The meadows clothed with flocks.

The valleys are decked with wheat.

They shout for joy; yes, they sing! R.
